ORTHSTAR Announces a Strategic Partnership
                  with INGERSOLL RAND


ELMIRA, NEW YORK - July 26, 1999 - ORTHSTAR, Inc., a System, Simulation and Software Engineering 

organization, announced today that it was selected as a strategic business partner by Ingersoll Rand Company.

ORTHSTAR will provide software and systems services in a key role for the development of special computer 

based tools used in Industrial Automation.

Ingersoll Rand's Tool and Hoist Division, with principal offices in Liberty Corner, NJ, is the manufacturer of 

automation products such as computer based tightening tools that are used worldwide in major automotive 

manufacturing facilities.

Ingersoll Rand chose ORTHSTAR for this vital product development role because of synergy that exists between 

the two companies. ORTHSTAR's software engineering capability is a perfect complement to the tool and automation engineering skills of Ingersoll Rand.
