ORTHSTAR, Inc. Announces New Training Product

Horseheads, New York – December 13, 2001 – ORTHSTAR, Inc. unveiled a brand new training product at the 67th annual Toronto Railway Club meeting.  The product, MODSIM-1, is a fully functional, yet portable, simulator and is designed for both student and experienced engineers.  MODSIM-1 provides real-time evaluation and feedback of student performance – all from a briefcase.

ORTHSTAR’s CEO, James E. Orsillo stated “Its flexibility and ease of use makes MODSIM-1 one of the smartest training tools on the market today.”  The MODSIM-1 is a first in the rail and transit training industry because it is an easily transportable device that contains the full functionality of an ORTHSTAR simulator.  Utilizing the MODSIM-1, student engineers learn proper train handling techniques allowing them to perform their job both safely and efficiently.  Experienced engineers also benefit by learning the correct procedure for throttling and braking a train in order to lessen forces and save fuel.

Mr. Orsillo stated, “with the current economic conditions the market appears to be very favorable for a training product at the price point we are able to offer MODSIM-1.”  Mr. Orsillo went on to say, “initial reaction has been very favorable regarding the MODSIM-1 and the idea of a truly portable simulator that instructors can take to the trainee.”
